When I report by Margin and enter an ice cream price, the 'Total for Each' value changes based on the over-ride price. But if my reporting method is Markup, there is no change.

Can we have Markup also show a new value?

This has been added as a feature with the August 2017 release. Users will be able to see the markup value in the TOTAL field in Design > Prices
