Crate Pro 6 includes several open frame styles. Review the LLO-300 styles. These styles can be quickly modified once created to add or remove additional material. Using an open frame style is not required and the following information can be applied to any crate style.
When you select an open frame style you're able to see the default spacing on each of the panel tabs. You're able to remove components or reduce the lumber counts to achieve your desired result. In the images below the quantity of lumber sheathing pieces was reduces. You're able to see the spacing. Users may select any lumber style and simply reduce the quantity of lumber sheathing pieces.
However in some instances you may want to completely remove the sheathing. Since many of the calculations are dependent on the dimensions of other components, you can swap out the material you want to remove with a Placeholder material. Using a placeholder in place of an entered material will allow Crate Pro 6 to use the removed materials dimensions for calculating other pieces but will not include it on cut sheets, in costs, in pricing or times.
A placeholder material will have an under-bar preceding the material description. Example: _1x4. By default a few materials are marked as Placeholders. In Inventory for each material you have the option to check it as a Placeholder. In the design, when you click in the field to change the item, the original material will exist plus an added[placeholder material at the bottom of the list.
